Going from Haywood to Pentair is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Pentair is just as bad if not worse. Don't use Pentair either.

what ever happened with you changing this hayward SP0525S to a pentair? i looked for follow up and didn't find one. i have the same light only it is not the stainless version and it has lasted since 2007 and now it is flickering and won't stay on full brightness but still works. hayward has gone to some new POS that pool guys want 1,400 dollars to install and they don't even want to put them in. i'm sure by now you have prolly sold that house or whatever so thought i would reach out anyway.

What is the clear tubing in the exhaust pvc for? In my building the tube looks like it got corroded and broke.

Is there anything different about flushing these? I did a few blow downs on mine to flush out sediment, but the water coming out was cold. The unit had just finished a heat cycle before I shut it down.

My Colorlogic lasted 12 years.

Hi there, just had mine go out last year and now wanting to replace my colorlogic. I guess what I am struggling with are the steps to actually replace the light and cable and get it a new one in. I did read you description but it didn’t really register in my head where to I start etc. I do have a switch by the pool steps I turned that to off and the breaker, what’s next? Lol. Sorry for the lame questions, I just don’t want to screw this up

Pentair Intellibrite LED is a piece of junk. Mine died after about 10 hours of use......contacted Pentair, no response. Think twice before buying Pentair Intellibrite. Search the internet and you will find countless cases of premature failure.

Greg, these AO Smith Vertex units also have a front anode rod which users should also replace at the same time. That rod is on the outlet tube side.

Great tip, where are you draining the condensate trap? It would have been great to see how that was piped.

DO NOT BUY HAYWARD COLORLOGIC!!!! They advertise an LED bulb life of over 50,000 hours. I had not used mine even 500 hours, the light stopped working, and with only a 12 month warranty, the Hayward warranty service said "TOO BAD!" Yes, $1000 LED bulb that did not even make it past 1% of its predicted bulb life, and NO warranty support! Terrible product from Hayward... Pentair all the way!!!!!!

How can I replace the anode rod if I don’t have full top clearance on the top of the tank without having to take the entire tank out?

Grey I'm brand new to this pool lightning any idea on how man Pentair IntelliBrite Color LED Pool Light and other accessories needed to light up a 125m square pool??

For What I paid for, it was a complete waste. Had 2 installed and they worked fine for 2 years then both went out at the same time. Go figure. How is that possible? Never again.

I just bought the Pentair Intellibrite 5G to replace my 8 year old Hayward Colorlogic. My only issue is that the trim on the niche is white and the Pentair is silver. The Pentair is not offered with white trim like the Hayward. ANyond else have this same issue, and if so did it look ok?

Too bad we can't come pick that snow up and take it back to Red Bluff, CA. We're going our 5th year of drought. We really could use some liquids around here. Thanks for the video.

Ppl wont clean those out ever, let alone once a year. I hope the health dept doesnt require those in your state unless they also require a service contract with an annual inspection.

My colorlogic just died. My experience with pumps leads me to say, Hayward sucks....Pentair all the way, every time!!!

How did you get the new housing to fit correctly. I know the pentair is about 1/4" smaller diameter outter ring and therefore sits slack in the Hayward nixhe. Did you caulk or what?

Thanks for this. I have the same problem, BOTH of my ColorLogic bulbs are screwed up and I refuse to pay close to $1000 to replace them. I'd like the put a standard enclosure in there for incandescent bulbs and then use one of the color changing LED bulbs that are a lot cheaper. So, as I understand it, you have to pull the entire cord through from the pool out of junction box? So i guess water gets into that conduit? Never knew how that worked.

Great Video, thanks. Have the same issue with the same colorlogic except mine only lasted 2 years. I have no desire to use the colorlogic again but we did like the color depth and brightness with the colorlogic. Did you think the color depth and brightness with the Intellibrite is equal or better than the Colorlogic? Appreciate your help.
